Meet in the Moment
When a child is diagnosed with cancer, everything changes overnight. Doctor visits multiply. Treatments begin. Fear and uncertainty settle in.
But one thing does not change. Life keeps moving.
Bills still come. Gas tanks still need filling. Families still need to eat.
During one of Warren’s first visits to the Hope Clinic at USA Children’s and Women’s Hospital, someone quietly handed our family an envelope before we left. Inside was the exact amount needed to cover Warren’s prescriptions. At the time, we did not know what treatment would cost or what the days ahead would look like. In that moment, someone lifted a burden so we could focus completely on our child.
We never forgot that moment.
Meet in the Moment is Warren’s Warriors Foundation’s way of paying that kindness forward.
Right now there are children in active cancer treatment at our local clinic. Many of these families travel from surrounding cities and states for care. Some drive daily. Others come weekly or monthly depending on their child’s treatment plan. Every child’s protocol is different, but every family carries the emotional and financial weight that comes with treatment.
Through the Meet in the Moment campaign, Warren’s Warriors provides practical support to families currently walking through treatment. This support may come in the form of gas cards to help families travel to and from the hospital or meal gift cards that make it easier to get through a long treatment day.
These gifts may seem simple, but during treatment they can mean everything.
Sometimes meeting someone in the moment looks like filling a tank of gas. Sometimes it looks like providing dinner after a long day at the hospital. Most importantly, it reminds families that they are not walking this journey alone.
Will you help us meet families in the moment?
